The Synthetic
Environment team is extending current GUI technology by
using interactive, dynamic, three-dimensional computer
graphics to enhance user ability to navigate large
databases. We are developing a unique toolkit, "NCR
Mirage" that allows advanced synthetic environment
user interfaces--"virtual environments"--to be
developed rapidly.
The "Virtual Shopping
System" gives the user an accurate visualization of
a shopping center that resembles real shopping
surroundings, which makes them comfortable and familiar
to the user. The virtual shopping system combines a full
range of media, such as audio and recorded video.
