Prototype Design

Goal: To create a semi-functional prototype of a user interface, which may be validated as effective, efficient and satisfying prior to actual development.

Resources: The typical user-interface prototype will take 1-4 months to complete. Typical resources will include a cognitive engineer, graphic designer, and a developer. This design service will typically be preceded by a Design Workshop, and should be completed in conjunction with an Usability Evaluation.

Deliverable: A prototype that illustrates the user’s experience in interacting with a product or service. The prototype will not "work", but will have sufficient functionality to give the illusion of operability. An additional deliverable from this service may be a detailed User Interface Specification document.
